All digital evidence is identified in our forensic laboratory, which adheres to international standards. Our forensic engineers, who have years of experience in their field, perform these identifications in a reliable and auditable manner, and the results are reported in compliance with the Turkish legal system.
Flash Disk and Memory Card
Examinations
With our flash disk and memory card examination services, we analyze data on portable devices and uncover findings with forensic evidence value. We support your processes with reliable reporting.

Flash drives and memory cards,
which have replaced storage units like floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs, are small-sized storage devices known as NAND and NOR that store permanent data. These systems, which can serve in FAT32, NTFS, exFAT, and HFS+ file system types, may not be actively supported on all operating systems. The file system commonly recognized across devices with Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems is FAT32, which is also significant for USB flash drives and memory cards.
USB flash drives and memory cards play an essential role in forensic science and data recovery.
Depending on their usage (e.g., mobile phones, cameras), they contain files such as “photos, videos, documents, backups,” etc. USB flash drives and memory cards, which generally identify themselves as SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) to the computer interface, are imaged with various forensic software/hardware while the “Write Blocker” is active to maintain the integrity of evidence. Examinations are conducted on the image file. For USB flash drives, which typically have a NAND structure, logical errors can be addressed with a PC-3000 device, while physical errors can be handled through JTAG and Chip-Off options for data recovery and forensic copying.
In this context, the most crucial evidence that judicial authorities (courts, prosecutors, lawyers) or administrative authorities (inspection boards, internal audit units, legal departments) resort to for clarifying an incident is now digital evidence. Thus, USB flash drives and memory cards, which are small in size but large in terms of stored information, have become the most prominent digital evidence in shedding light on many cases.
The data they contain can illuminate cases ranging from divorce proceedings to labor law cases, criminal cases, commercial disputes, and even intellectual property cases.
By working with Fordefence experts,
your digital evidence in judicial or administrative investigations can be examined on your behalf, and expert opinions/reports are prepared in accordance with international standards, suitable for use in Turkey or any country in the world, and compliant with Article 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CMK) and Article 293 of the Code of Civil Procedure (HMK).
If necessary, these reports can even allow the expert who provided the opinion to be heard as a witness under Article 178 of the CMK.
